Cedar Ledge is a private, secluded seaside home surrounded by Acadia National Park, with breathtaking views of Frenchman's Bay and the Porcupine Islands. Walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor and a short drive to park entrances, and numerous other activities in and around the Island. In addition to complete privacy and being surrounded by Acadia National Park, our view is really what sets our home apart from other houses.
 
FIRST FLOOR: Through the sunroom entrance, accessible via short steps, the main floor entrance to the home opens to the kitchen, which features counter seating overlooking a living room equipped with a fireplace and sliding doors to the sunporch with water views. To the right, there is a bedroom with a king bed and another bedroom with a single trundle bed, both sharing a "Jack and Jill" full bathroom that includes a combined tub and shower. To the left of the living area is a bedroom with a queen bed, adjacent to a full bathroom with a tub and shower. A spacious porch with wicker furnishings and a dining table connects to a furnished screened porch, which also offers water views. Laundry facilities are located in the entryway.
APARTMENT SUITE: Accessible from the sunroom entryway, this additional suite features a living area with a kitchenette, including a breakfast station and mini fridge, as well as a door leading to a private screened porch. There is a bedroom with a queen bed, a bedroom with twin beds, and a shared full bathroom with a shower stall.
OUTDOOR SPACES: The enclosed sunroom/deck is furnished with a dining table and offers exceptional views of the Porcupine Islands, Ogden Point, and Frenchman's Bay. The property is surrounded by woodlands and granite outcroppings. Though shoreline access is technically available from the property, please note the path is steep and may be challenging. Alternatively, guests can walk down the driveway to reach the trailhead for Compass Harbor, which provides a pleasant route to the shore.
NOTE: The second level of the home is locked off and not available to renters, your privacy is assured as the second level would remain unoccupied during your stay
 
Guest access:
The house is fully private on a large plot of land surrounded mainly by Acadia National Park, and you have full access to all of our amenities, including propane BBQ grill on the balcony, lobster pot, herb garden, all of the standard essentials you would expect, and of course the many trails on the property that lead to the shore for the rugged adventure seekers. There is a beautiful nearly-private rock beach below, of which just a small chunk is part of our property, the rest is part of Acadia. The beach and house are adjacent to Compass Harbor, Dorr Point and some beautiful walking trails through the forest.
 
Convenient to downtown Bar Harbor and Jackson Laboratory. Lovely wooded setting. Very quiet.

Rates include the cost of normal departure cleaning.
 
All houses are fully equipped, including linens and dishes.
Refundable security deposit, 9% Maine State Sales Tax and a $25 nonrefundable booking fee are not included in the rental rates shown.

This house follows a Standard Cancelation Policy: No refund unless house is re-booked.
