The guest house was amazing! It was perfect for what we wanted. Easy walk to town,short drive to Acadia,beautiful views. Wooded area adjacent to house provided views of fox & deer. Awesome shoreline with a Loon appearing every day. Sally was a great host, providing suggestions of scenic sights and vegan food locations. Very happy with Acadia Cottage. The owner was very helpful and responded well. This place was perfect for my wife and I. Very secluded area, yet very walkable to town. That was a big plus as Bar Harbor was very busy and it looks to be difficult to find parking. There are other places to stay in town, but if you like a peaceful/quiet location with a very short walk to town, this is certainly the place for you. Hope to return someday! - (Oct 2025 - ABNB)

Hidden gem in Bar Harbor. Perfect for two people looking for a week getaway. There is a larger house in front of this cottage, so no direct ocean views. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed, very comfortable, and quiet. Walkable to downtown Bar Harbor which is great to avoid parking and traffic. The outdoor patio gave us privacy outside and we also used the grill. Only downside is no A/C, but there is a really nice breeze off the water and a box fan was provided. Wonderful Honeymoon Location

This cottage was a wonderful surprise! We would recommend this place highly to anyone! The location is incredible, right by the water. An easy walk to the town center, giving you access to all restaurants, shops, and the main bus location to take you around Mount Desert Island. There is the "main house" on the same property, but it never conflicted with our stay. The guest still has their privacy and access to the beach. Also, the cottage has all the amenities needed for a longer stay. Wonderful kitchen area, and the owner does a fantastic job of providing all the kitchen supplies necessary for a pleasant stay. Overall, very satisfied.

My husband and I visited ME for the first time for our 33rd Anniversary. I couldn't have found a more perfect spot for the 2 of us! The house was clean and walking to Bar Harbor was doable. The view was fantastic and the owners of the "big house" were kind enough to allow us access to the beach area from their backyard. We spent a lot of time in Acadia National Park and the house was convenient to call home after hiking. We enjoyed the beach area, watching the tides, exploring for shells and sea glass, and looking at all the stars in the sky. Thank you for sharing your Guest Cottage!!

My wife and I have traveled to acadia many times over the years, staying in hotels, other cottages, B&B;'s, etc. Our stay at Bagatelle Guest Cottage was by far our most enjoyable stay we've ever had. Checking in was a breeze, there were no surprises awaiting us in the cottages and it was spotless. The location was ideal for us, an easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor and an awesome view of the water and Bar Island. The main house was unoccupied most of the week so we had a very quiet and exclusive estate to enjoy by ourselves. I'll return to Bagatelle Guest Cottage on my next trip to Acadia, that's for sure. - (Nov 2017 - Previous)
