This peaceful cottage, owned by Joanne Beal has been in her family for 50 years, and it is centrally located in the heart of Mount Desert Island and just minutes from all Acadia has to offer. Somes Pond Cottage is in the quaint village of Somesville overlooking beautiful Somes Pond~a bird watchers haven! Somes Pond is a motor free lake and perfect to listen to the sounds of nature. Just 3/4 of a mile from Long Pond, which supplies the water for Somes Pond, is close for another lake to go canoeing and swimming. Ripples Brook borders the side of the cottage. This tranquil cottage is centrally located on the island and just minutes to Acadia and Bar Harbor. You can drive all around the island at your convenience with ample parking or you can take advantage of the Free Island Bus to take you to your desired destinations. You'll find four bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, open dining room and living room with gas fireplace and a large deck overlooking the water.
 
Bedrooms: This cottage sleeps up to 7 people comfortably. Four bedrooms-master bedroom with king size bed, 2nd bedroom with king size bed, and 3rd and 4th bedroom with two twin beds in each.
 
Bathrooms: Two bathrooms: upstairs bath has toilet, sink, and bathtub. The large downstairs bath has toilet, sink, shower/bathtub combo.
 
Outdoor Accommodations: Enjoy the outdoors at the picnic table or on the deck overlooking the marsh and pond beyond.
 
Heating/Cooling: Heating is by gas furnace. Featured in the living room is a gas fireplace. Two fans are provided for cooling.
 
Telephone/Internet: There is a telephone for local calls and wireless internet.
 
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots & pans, dishwasher, toaster, microwave oven, and coffee maker.
 
Laundry: Washer and dryer are located on the first floor. Linens: Kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom linens are included.
 
Television: There is a TV with DVD/VCR in the living room, as well as a TV in each king size bedroom.
 
Pets: Pets are allowed at this property with prior permission of the property manager and $250 pet fee.
