Beautiful cottage minutes from downtown Bar Harbor.

Beautiful cottage minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. Walking to downtown Bar Harbor is about 15 minutes. 10 minute drive to Arcadia National Park. We rented bikes for a day and rode the carriage trails and went back to the cottage and downtown easily. The cottage was very clean with all the amenities that made our vacation stress free and relaxing. We hope to go again. - (Sep 2025 - VRBO)

The cottage is perfect for two.

The cottage is perfect for two. The loft bedroom is very nice. Everything you can imagine needed to prepare food is there. A nice gas grill on back deck for your favorite grill treat. Comfortable living area that looks out into the woods , with TV, or to read books and unwind from days' hiking. Very close to park entrance, carriage roads, and DT Bar Harbor. We spent a week there and loved it. The host lives near by but is respectful of your privacy and yet dropped by on day 2-3 for 5 mins. to see if we needed anything. Was proactive to make sure we were 100% happy. And we were! I will put this stay on my return to Acadia plan for the future. I recommend it without reservation. - (Sep 2025 - ABNB)

Wonderful cottage for our week visit to Acadia NP! Everything in Bar Harbor we walked to. (supermarket, organic market, ferry trip to Schoodic area of the park, dinners and shopping). Great home base to explore the park. Quiet and comfortable. We prepared a few meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The cottage is adorable. Excellent for a couple. The cottage made a great home base.

The cottage is centrally located to both Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. You can walk 15 minutes and be in downtown Bar Harbor or walk about 10 minutes to a Hampton Inn nearby and catch the free Island Explorer bus which will take you to the village green where you can catch other busses to go to Southeast Harbor and Acadia. You can walk up the road from the cottage and in a matter of minutes be on a carriage road in Acadia. The main visitor center for Acadia National Park at Hull's Cove is a 5 minute drive. The cottage sits on the property of the renters which is right across the driveway but you wouldn't know it due to some strategic landscaping. The cottage main windows face woods and is quiet and private. The cottage doesn't have A/C but numerous windows, a ceiling fan and box fan so we were always comfortable. The small gas stove worked great to take the chill off. The kitchen had all the items we needed, including a nonstick pan for eggs. The cottage made a great home base. - (Jul 2024 - ABNB)

The location of this house is great!

The location of this house is great! It is half a block to the shopping district. It is half a block in the other direction to the path to Barr island. It's a great jumping off spot for all of Acadia. Bike rentals or kayak trips are 2-3 blocks away. The location is ideal! And one off-street spot means no looking for or paying for parking in Bar Harbor. It is a small and simple space but very adequate for a family of four. We cooked or grilled at home for several meals and enjoyed that. The grocery store is reasonably priced and is only 2 blocks away.

The Acorn Cottage was perfect for our stay

The Acorn Cottage was perfect for our stay in Acadia. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch between activities. There were nice trees and a stream in view, and we saw a fox trotting along the stream while eating our breakfast one morning. It is an easy walk to reach downtown Bar Harbor but is still far enough out to still be quiet and peaceful. It is also close to an Acadia Park entrance. Just wanted to say thanks for having us. Acorn cottage was just such a perfect spot away from all the main business of town but still within walking distance. A beautiful cabin, well taken care of......we were impressed. We really enjoyed our stay. Quiet, nestled in the woods......it really was the perfect spot for us. I fell in love with this property as soon as it popped up. We were so excited to see it was EXACTLY as presented on VRBO. Everything listed was available and in working order. Location: SUPERB! Though it sits just outside of the Bar Harbor Village, off of the highway it's still quiet and relaxing. Several times we walked to and from the village. It's also very close to the loop road for Acadia National Park. Property: Surrounded by trees, nestled near a broom and little walking path, gave that feeling of being in the woods without actually being remote. The home was CLEAN and inviting! We like to cook some when we're on vacation and the kitchen, while not fully stocked, had the basics we needed; can opener, bottle openers, scissors, sharp knives, serving and eating utensils, nice dishes, a fabulous coffee maker (drip & K-cup combo), a French press, tea kettle, a good selection of pots and pans. We felt so cozy. The window seat is perfect and there's a great selection of books and puzzles. TV with access to Ruko, Netflix & Prime. The bed and pillows were comfy, too! We felt like the hosts thought of every detail for travelers. While the hosts do live on the property, other than a brief, friendly introduction and conversation, we saw & heard little of them. My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and it was perfect! The check in process was very easy and any questions we had were answered in a very timely manner! The cottage is small but has everything you could need! The cottage is quite close to many other houses and not as secluded as it appears but it was still relatively quiet with the exception of the occasional loud car driving by!
