We absolutely loved Buckeyes and Blueberries; it was spotless, spacious, and fully stocked with anything we may need. After being busy all day in Bar Harbor or Acadia, coming back to this place was a welcome and relaxing retreat! This rental was hands down our favorite

This rental was hands down our favorite we have ever stayed, the pictures just don't do it justice. It has everything you could possibly need in the house and it was the most cozy and comfortable place! We all felt right at home. It was very clean. it felt like we were the first guests that have ever stayed , but it has been a rental for a long time. We needed to ask the owners a question during our stay and they got back to us very quickly and that was helpful knowing we had communication with them if needed. A wonderful place!!

A wonderful place!! Beautiful, clean, efficient, spacious cottage, exceptional kitchen - there were four of us. No problems at all at any stage of the stay. A very private location, but convenient to everything on MDI. Exceptional view from the front porch of Sargent Mountain (and others) and a piece of Somes Sound, as we looked out over pines and a meadow. The morning we left I put my cell phone out on the front porch and ran the Merlin app bird sound ID for an hour. Got 16 species, including red crossbills. We heard loons calling from Somes Sound on several occasions. Hummingbirds came to the feeder. Several deer grazed in the meadow while we were there. What a wonderful home away from home.

What a wonderful home away from home. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The pictures don't do it justice, and the view is spectacular. For a family of three, there was plenty of space for us and lots of information about the island lying around. Since we made our visit during the off season we did enough cooking to say that the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Absolutely lovely home!

Absolutely lovely home! Six of us stayed here for a week - my husband and I, our two boys, and his parents. The house had the perfect amount of sleeping space for all of us, and each room was adorably and tastefully decorated. Although the house is not huge, it is very open and feels very spacious. We never felt crowded (and with 6 of us, the 2.5 bathrooms were appreciated!). The double decks provided gorgeous views of the forest and Somes Sound, which we enjoyed each and every day. My husband and I left the sliding deck door off the master bedroom open on several nights to let in the cool breeze and listen to the sounds of the loons and other animals. The house is more than fully stocked with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen as well as plenty of books and games. The temperature controls throughout the house made it easy to keep us all comfortable. The sunroom is particularly lovely as well. One thing to watch for is that our GPS did not have an accurate location for the house so we had to keep driving to find it; make sure you drive slowly so you don't miss it! Beautiful Home

We have never rented a home before as we normally stay at hotels. We weren't really sure what to expect upon arrival but this home is exactly as depicted in the pictures and description. It is beautiful! We loved that the living area was on the top floor so we could enjoy the views from the wall of windows. Most mornings we would see deer. The kitchen has everything you need, even had some spices, oils, tea and coffee. The bedrooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. There were more than enough towels, sheets and blankets. Our favorite room was the sunroom, where we sat every evening. There were DVDs, puzzles, games, and plenty of books to entertain. The best cabin ever stayed in

The cabin was great, professionally cleaned and furnished to smallest detail level. It had everything our family of 6 needed. A lot of space to sleep and relax. Location is very good: 15 min to Bar Harbor, 2-5 min to closest trails / beach on the lake we've enjoyed a lot. Every day we had deers passing by and enjoyed the sunset looking at Cadillac mountain.

Buckeyes and Blueberries was a perfect place for 6 of us to stay on the "quiet side" of the island.

It was a short drive to many places we wanted to see and experience: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor, hiking trails and more. The kitchen was very well appointed. We cooked dinner in every night. It was a short drive to our lunch spots including Bar Harbor and Beal's Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor. We spent a lot of time in the 3-season room especially in the morning and evening. Watching sunrises and the lighting effects of sunsets from there were photo ops. We also enjoyed the deck and used the grill. The "upside down" floor plan is perfect for the location. We own rental property in Florida and we were very impressed with how well-equipped Buckeyes and Blueberries was! Great supply of towels and kitchen equipment. We replaced items of which we used the last. Our only suggestion would be more wine and cocktail glasses.

Appreciated the closeness to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor. Far enough away to avoid the crowds of tourists but close enough to enjoy the views. Top of the line furniture and supplies with plenty of room to spread out. Lucky enough to meet the owners when they brought additional coffee to four old ladies that enjoy their mojo in the morning. A perfect home away from home and we're all pretty fussy!

My family and I have been renting homes for vacation since 2004. We have stayed in different destinations and this home beats every other rental we have stayed in. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and there are instructions that guide you for the heat and the cooling. The views are amazing and the wildlife visit the property frequently. The very best thing about this rental though is that it feels like you are going home at the end of a busy day full of hiking, even though home is so very far away. We can't wait to rent this home again.

This was our second year and if anything it improved! More items were found supplied in the kitchen. This house sleeps 6 and is not pet friendly or set up for very young children, but adults will love the numerous books and sitting areas including 2 huge decks. We are already booked for 2018 as there is so much to do in the area that we have not accomplished yet.

This house is the cream of the crop for rentals. The view from the deck is the mountains across the sound. We are out only once as this is the most well-appointed kitchen I have ever been in. Every item is a luxurious brand from towels to pans to appliances. The air conditioning is top notch. I would suggest you book early.

Love this home! I've never experienced such a well-equipped kitchen in a vacation rental! The views are lovely and the home is very comfortable, clean and decor is well-appointed. Towels and bedding were excellent. Lots of instructions provided by owner - so not at a loss as to how to work the equipment and technology. Sat on the deck each evening and heard the deer wander their way through the woods...sometimes detour through the yard to munch. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at Buckeyes & Blueberries this summer and I must say this was the nicest place we have ever rented. We always look for a house or a condo instead of a hotel because we like having plenty of room, and this home did not disappoint. It is very clean, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. The King bed in the Master Bedroom suite was great and the leather couch and love seat were very inviting. Every room has been updated or recently renovated. The kitchen has plenty of cookware, tableware and pantry staples to easily cook a meal. I just loved the decor; if I were to build my dream home, this place would be it! We thought this rental was in a great central location on the island. Its far enough away from the rush of Bar Harbor but close enough to easily drive into town for a meal. And it is very close to Southwest Harbor where there are many great restaurants. It is secluded in a nice wooded area where deer frequent every day. We liked the fact that you can't see any other houses from the back deck. All in all it was a great home base for exploring the island by car, and for biking or hiking. The manager was also very pleasant and thorough with all the paperwork.

The house really met our expectations. It was beautiful inside, tons of living space (the three of us did not do it justice). The kitchen was beautifully redone. The bathrooms were great as well - the water was nice and hot. We had a slight issue with the WIFI speed initially, but that got resolved. The satellite TV was great. Also, since you're kind of secluded and in the middle of nature the bugs were a bit of a problem out on the porch. Highly recommended.

This was the best rental experience we have had. Everything was as advertised and more. The house is very nice, extremely clean, and has everything you need. The location is perfect for touring MDI. It is an easy drive to all attractions but in a quite tucked away location away from traffic and road noise. The view is nice, deer pass through in the mornings and evenings, great sunrise view every morning. We felt like it it was home away from home and will definitely try to rent this property for any future trips to MDI.

I am very sure that my family are not the first one to say "can we stay here permanently?" the moment we walked into Buckeyes and Blueberries. The view overlooking Somes sound is absolutely breath taking. The interior of the house was beautifully decorated with taste and functions in mind. All the rooms have plenty of space and very very clean. My teenagers love the Moose rooms. I myself love just sit in the sun room and soak in the view.
