We had an amazing time at this house in the heart of Bar Harbor! We could walk everywhere and never had to deal with finding parking. The house was clean and the porch was amazing for enjoying the beautiful weather. They made sure we had a pack and play for our little one when I asked about it and were very responsive to my questions. Would definitely stay here again!'

We had a great stay in Bar Harbor! This is a great location that is just a short walk to many restaurants and shops and the path to Bar Island. We weren't bothered by noise from the town or the apartment below us. The host was very responsive. We knew that there wasn't AC in the cottage (they did provide lots of fans) but we weren't expecting it to get up to 95F in June so there was a day or two that were pretty uncomfortable. - (Jul 2025 - ABNB)

Perfect location, a perfect home base for my family

We had a fabulous stay at Hathaway House.

We had a fabulous stay at Hathaway House. Everything was as described and overall I would say this house was very clean and comfortable. The location was fabulous and we walked everywhere. The kitchen was well equipped and ready for any cooking you might have during your stay. The furniture was comfortable including the beds. I give it only 4 stars because the bathroom/bedroom set-up made it a little quirky/inconvenient. All 3 bedrooms were upstairs. The master had a full on suite bath. There was also a half bath upstairs for the other two bedrooms. There was another full bath but it was located downstairs off the kitchen. Not ideal, however we made it work. The other additional comments would be easy fixes to make it more comfortable. We had 2 couples stay for a week, and as the couple that didn't have the master, would suggest adding a TV to the other King room upstairs. And add a full mirror upstairs that can be used by the guest not in the master. - (Nov 2024 - ABNB)

This was our first time in Bar Harbor, first time in Maine - we loved the home!! It was very clean and comfortable, the owners really do a great job with simple but comfortable decor. Made us feel right at home!! We loved the porch on the second floor and appreciated having the fans. The weather was great - we had warm days so having the fans in the home made it for even more comfortable moments the times we were there. The location of the house could not have been better.

We had a great week in Bar Harbor. The location of the house could not have been better. We could and did walk to shops, great food, drinks. Easy to get to the village green for the bus to Acadia. House had plenty of room for everyone in our party. After a morning hike or a visit to Sand Beach, the deck was a great place to relax with a book or watch the activity going by. Our enthusiasm for the house is obvious

We have stayed at Hathaway Cottage for nine of the last eleven years, so our enthusiasm for the house is obvious. It feels like our second home, and we love the location. Dan is a wonderful, attentive landlord whose wife makes the best blueberry pancakes on MDI at CTW! As we age and deal with serious health problems, we know our Maine getaways are numbered, but we were especially thrilled to squeeze in a week this year. You both make it all seamless and easy.
