The location of the townhouse was the BEST!

The location of the townhouse was the BEST! No need to drive anywhere in town but there is a designated parking space for a car if you plan on adventuring at all. Having a washer and dryer upstairs was handy. There were plenty of fans to use if you need more than just windows open. Walking in the evening always felt safe and the area was typically very quiet. I would stay at the townhouse again for sure!! - (Oct 2025 - VRBO)

I can say without hesitation that of all the places we've stayed, this is by far our favorite.

My fiance and I spent the summer in this condo after nearly a year living a digital nomad, week-by-week lifestyle. I can say without hesitation that of all the places we've stayed, this is by far our favorite. After a long day hiking in Acadia or day tripping to one of the adjacent pearls of downeast Maine, we could always count on a warm welcome back to this cute condo in the heart of Bar Harbor.

I could go on and on about this place, but some of the highlights include the airy patio overlooking Mount Desert street, the parking spot in town (a godsend in the summer), the lobster pot with all of the accompanying picking tools, the comfortable king sized bed on the lofted top floor, the cozy living room complete with a wet bar and large TV for evenings in, and the well tended flower beds hugging the second floor windows. We loved the decor, which features plenty of coastal charm with room to make it your own during longer stays. Plus, the house itself is just gorgeous. It's an older summer mansion converted into several apartments with one of the most beautiful facades in town.

We were concerned about the lack of AC before arriving, but up in Maine, you don't need it. The host left us plenty of fans (which helped during the one day of heat wave we had), and we had the windows open almost all summer to let the air in. Nights were cool and days were very comfortable. As remote workers, we are always skeptical about WiFi at first, but the network here was fantastic and kept up with both of us working simultaneously all summer. The condo is walking distance to everything in town. Some of our favorite finds were Brasserie Le Brun (one of the best meals we've ever had), Cafe This Way, The Barnacle, The Rebel Lobster, Dinner, and The Thirsty Whale. The kitchen is also very well equipped for cooking; the grocery store and summer farmer's market are only a few blocks away. The national park entrance is a short trek; the closest trails are only a 5-minute drive. I also loved the close proximity to the shore path in town for morning runs; the house is so close to the water that you can smell the salty air when the wind is right.
If you're looking for a longer stay on MDI, this is it!! - (Aug 2025 - AvailabilityOnline)

The location was close and an easy walk to most things in Bar Harbor.

The location was close and an easy walk to most things in Bar Harbor. However, there was a considerable amount of noise from vehicle traffic and foot traffic at all hours. There is no a/c and with open windows that doesn't work for a light sleeper. The description listed a fireplace and a grill. We did not see a grill and the fireplace had a tag that stated to not use it. There was a fan to extract hot air from the entire unit and there was a tag stating it was broken. They did have three portable fans available in a closet. It was clean and the kitchen was nice. Having two bathrooms was a plus as well. - (Aug 2024 - VRBO)

This was my second time staying here and it's so charming and full of character!

This was my second time staying here and it's so charming and full of character! The location is perfect and the designated parking space is a life saver now that Bar Harbor has done away with free public parking during the day. - (Oct 2023 - ABNB)

Great place to stay right in town!

Everything was convenient to walk to, including the stop for the island explorer bus. We could not have made a better choice.

We loved staying at this location.

It was a short walk to access the Island Explorer bus to take us anywhere in Acadia National Park and right to where all the action is happening downtown with restaurants, bars, and shopping. We really enjoyed the space, it was clean, comfortable, the small deck was awesome (it overlooks the main road), there is a dishwasher, washer, dryer, and there were even two trays of ice cubes made when we arrived. Unfortunately for us, we arrived on one of the hottest days of the year, it was in the 90s - we quickly realized there is no air conditioning in the condo. We didn't notice when we booked the reservation but to be honest, now that we know, we would stay there again even in the heat. It is a great space! - (Aug 2019 - ABNB)

Very nice!

The townhouse was clean, and apparent that it is being taken care of well. When you open the front door there is a flight of stairs, which took us by surprise; and then another flight of stairs to the bedroom and main bath. There is a toilet room off the kitchen. We absolutely loved the location. Walking distance to the main part of town.

Bar Harbor and the surrounding area is worth a visit. We loved it!

Perfect accommodations and location!

My husband and I spent a week here at the end of June and it was AMAZING! Check-in and check-out were super smooth and directions were clear. The location is great for traveling to Acadia National Park and also walking to the downtown area for dinner, shopping, and taking in the sights of Bar Harbor. The accommodations offered some newer renovations and was the perfect place to relax after a long day of hiking or strolling around town. We will definitely keep this location in mind for future trips to the area.

It was Simply Marvelous!

My wife and I travelled there for our Honeymoon last Sept. Although the Govt. Had shut down and the Parks were closed, we Had a wonderful time. The cottage we stayed in was absolutely beautiful! The Fireplace added an extra Special touch to our stay. Also, the staff who helped Us with our reservation was outstanding! :-) We plan on returning!!
