This was a beautiful family home in a wonderfully quiet location right on the cove. Sunrises were spectacular. The house was equipped with anything one would need to stay, with extras such as games and puzzles. We appreciated the use of the washer/dryer also. Home was large and more than accommodating for our group of 7. Nice 10 minute drive into Bar Harbor. We had a couple of housekeeping issues, but nothing that we couldn't handle ourselves, and reported at the end of the stay so that they could be corrected afterward. The staff at Acadia Rentals were very pleasant to speak with. Overall, a very comfortable stay and would stay again if we were back in the area. - (Sep 2024 - VRBO)

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for...

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for, something completely private that gave us the ability to be "away from it all." The property is down a private road and you can barely see another house through the woods, so it felt properly private to us. I have Verizon and had difficulty getting a signal over most of the island but my husband has AT&T and had a signal at the cottage. The cottage is spacious, with plenty of room in the loft above and the two bedrooms on the ground floor. We cooked breakfast each morning in the well-equipped kitchen and cooked dinner on the outdoor grill in the evenings. The house is clearly well taken care of, down to the walkway to the house brushed clear of leaves and a pumpkin and mum to decorate the front porch. We purposely wanted to be on the "quiet side" of the island, but never had to drive longer than 25 minutes to get to any destinations within Acadia. - (Oct 2019 - ABNB)

The bayberry cottage is a cute place to relax in while on MDI. The location is very quiet and private. We enjoyed our stay very much. Just know that you will most likely not have cell service here, so research whatever you need before arriving. The cottage is comfortable and has all the necessary amenities for a relaxing stay in the woods! - (Aug 2019 - ABNB)

Cottage was as expected. Maintained the cool very well. Limited cellular service but there was a working phone in the cottage in case of emergency. Would potentially stay again in a future trip to Acadia. - (Jul 2019 - ABNB)

A quiet place to hear yourself think.

This was a return trip to Bayberry Cottage for us. The cottage is fully equipped with kitchen equipment and linens, we had everything we needed. There is a beautiful loft bedroom, but too hot to use at this time of year. It's quite spacious and nicely laid out with two outside decks - we enjoyed watching the morning chipmunks racing across with nuts. The furnishing is very basic, with many charming details and a library of books about the area. It's a good place to disconnect since there is no internet, no 4G and no TV stations. It's so quiet, set way back from the road, with woods all around, you feel like you're the only ones there.

Quiet peaceful cottage in the woods.

Quiet peaceful cottage in the woods. 
Super clean comfortable and roomy cottage tucked privately into the woods off of a shared driveway. The cottage was roomier than it looked in the photos and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners (who are very pleasant) live down the shared driveway and they did inquire when we had family members visit us and stay overnight one night, but I feel that was within their right to do. Just helpful to know since some people like complete privacy. The cottage is obviously well cared for and you can tell they take great pride in the property and the cottage. I would recommend and stay again when we visit. - (Aug 2017)
