Perched about 1/4 mile above the shore, this cottage affords beautiful views of Somes Sound and the mountains of Acadia National Park. Plus, you can stroll through the gorgeous landscape of this unique property, down the 1/4 path to the shore and a shared dock, right on Somes Sound. Mountain laurel, pines, a babbling brook, granite outcroppings, deer, fox, chickadees, and more...all at your doorstep!

Designed for enjoying and relaxing: The main living area is drenched in sunlight, and includes an open floor plan with kitchen, living and dining area on the top floor to capitalize on the gorgeous views of Somes Sound, Acadia Mountain and the surrounding landscape. Convenience abounds with direct access from the kitchen to the large deck with outdoor seating and gas grill.

Also perched on the upper deckis a HOT TUB! A perfect spot for enjoying the spectacular views of Somes Sound and Acadia Mountain, watching the visiting deer or for soothing tired muscles after a picture-perfect day of hiking, biking, shopping, swimming or sightseeing! Gather around the fire pit and enjoy roasting marshmallows or a cocktail. Firewood provided!

Perfect location! Cozy with exceptional views!

The home is beautifully maintained -- very clean and spacious. The pictures do not capture the beauty of the property -- nicely secluded with spectacular views. This home was the perfect choice for my trip to MDI! And the hot tub was a special treat after running the local marathon! Thank you for sharing your lovely home and property! Jinny C - (Oct 2017)

Second Year - Perfect Again

This was our second year at the Acadia Cottage and it was perfect yet again. The cottage is spotless and has everything we needed and more for a relaxing week away. We enjoyed the hot tub every evening and used the fire pit one night in the fog. We saw multiple deer on the property each day and on the first day we saw an eagle and a fox too! It's a short drive to Southwest Harbor where Beal's offers the best lobster on the island. Be sure to take time to enjoy the "quiet side" - Beech Ladder Trail and Beech Mountain hikes were awesome. We honestly wouldn't stay anywhere else which is why we are already booked for next year! Keri D - (Oct 2017)

Perfect for relaxing!

This was our second stay at the Acadia. The quite property is perfect to unwind and relax. The hot tub was a great way to start every day with coffee and end the day after long hikes and fires in the neatest fire pit I've ever seen. This place has everything you need to be comfortable. The sheets and mattress and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked well. The house is close to stores, Bar Harbor, breweries and restaurants, yet tucked away with tons of privacy! Thank you again for a much needed time away! Angela B - (Oct 2017)

Peaceful property with gorgeous views

We just returned from a week stay in the beautiful Acadia cabin. When hurricane Irma forced us to bring our 14 month old on our anniversary trip we were pleased to find all the necessities that we needed! A pack n play and highchair were a major help. Star gazing in the hot tub every night after hiking was the highlight of our trip! We spent a lot of time just walking the property and wish we could have spent more time down on the dock. The house was clean and tidy and the washer and dryer was a great bonus. Perfect amount of seclusion while still being close to the park and many restaurants in the southwest harbor. Hopefully we will make it back some day to charming MDI! Lauryn V - (Sep 2017)

fascinating property, beautiful view, comfortable house

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in Acadia staying at this perfect little house. We agreed that we could never tire of the spectacular views and the property had such an intriguing history to explore. Hikes and shopping were a quick drive, but when we felt like having down time, the quick walk to the dock for a swim, or even just relaxing in the yard were the perfect way to relax.
