Isle au Haut is a naturalist's and artist's sanctuary with a total "get away from it all" experience. It is six miles long and two miles wide with over half of the island a part of Acadia National Park. It has eighteen miles of hiking trails accessed by one circuitous, mostly dirt road. Isle au Haut has forests, ocean ledges, marshes, views galore and a quaint village. Amenities on Isle au Haut are minimal. There is a general store, a post office and a library, all of which are open for limited hours. Campa Bella is located at the southern tip of Isle au Haut and is a pleasant short walk to Long Pond where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. Just imagine... watching the sunrise over the Atlantic ocean, lobster buoys catching the glint of the early morning light, quiet, peaceful, calm.....
