Charming apartment which is located within walking distance of restaurants, buses to Acadia, the water, grocery stores, everything we needed! The apartment was spotless, fully equipped and included thoughtful touches like coffee, tea, cream, etc. Great rental!

Highly recommended!

A great place hosted by down to earth folks; highly recommended! We had a wonderful stay at Carol and Jim's Sweet Fern that is cozy, tastefully decorated, and sparkling clean. It has everything you would need, even band-aids, for the visit of Mount Desert Island. The apartment is conveniently located on a quiet street in downtown Bar Harbor, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and a supermarket. We would love to stay there again on our next trip to Acadia.

No need for a car!

This was the perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor for my husband and I. We arrived, parked our car and didn't use it again for 4 days! The Acadia busses, restaurants and groceries were very close by so we had no need for the car. The apartment was immaculate and EVERYTHING we needed was there that we could possibly need. We live in NYC so the size of the place was just what we are used to, but if you're used to large living quarters, think of this as a tiny home with a giant bathroom and a large kitchen. It is a well thought out space with a room for eating at a table and a sweet little porch off the back.

This is the perfect Bar Harbor rental

It is close to everything - walking distance to grocery store, restaurants, shops, marina and more. Extremely easy access to Acadia National park from two directions - one going to Cadillac Mountain the other to Ocean Path. The unit was clean, incredibly well appointed (scissors, tape, cork screw, soap, Acadia map... the list goes on). Both the bed and futon were comfortable and there are plenty of blankets and linens. The unit was bright and airy and had its own private deck off the back. The kitchen is just the right size, and had all the pots/pans/cooking utensils required to create meals. There were even spices in the cabinets. The dedicated WiFi was heavenly! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. - (May 2018)

Fantastic place to stay in Bar Harbor!

The location is great, in town and close to all activities. The place is very clean, and it includes all the amenities that one would need. Communication was very easy, and finding the place was easy as well. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Bar Harbor. - (May 2018)

Great apartment in the heart of Bar Harbor

We stayed there a full week in July and really liked our experience. The appartment is new, fully furnished and was really clean. We found the rooms are bigger than the pictures suggest (the bedroom could fit an extra mattress for our 3 years old daughter) and we were happily surprised to see a little terrace at the back. It's located right in the middle of Bar Harbor in a residential, quiet neighborhood. At first we were looking for a beach appartment, but this one was actually much more convenient. It's a 2 min walk to the grocery store and 10 min to the city center and the waterside. There's a place for your car, which is good in the center, and all the main roads are easily accessible. Good wifi and tv too.

The location is ideal...

Jim and Carol's place is perfect for those visiting Bar Harbor. The location is ideal - close to downtown, walking distance to the grocery store, and not too far from popular Acadia trails. Everything we could possibly need from a place to stay was provided. We had a great time staying in Bar harbor and I think part of it was because of how perfect the Huckleberry was for our needs. - (May 2017)
