It was perfect for a week in Bar Harbor.

We stayed at big dragonfly. It was perfect for a week in Bar Harbor. It is very close to the downtown, and close to the park loop road. The bedrooms were surprisingly larger than expected. This location was perfect, 5 minute drive to Acadia and walkable to Bar Harbor, but still quiet and private! The house is exactly as described and pictured. simple and quaint. Parsons fish market across the street has amazing prices on lobsters, clams, and all the fixings! The house was adorable!

The house was adorable! It felt cozy and homey and not overdone with recent renovations that make everything feel sterile, as many places I've stayed recently have been. The folks I communicated with were all very friendly and responded promptly anytime I had a question. I would recommend this cottage and rental company to anybody ?? There was some construction/tree cutting happening across the street in early morning hours (not the rental company's fault) that made it difficult to sleep in, but I really can't complain, as I didn't really want to sleep in in such a cute town with so much to do! - (Jun 2023 - ABNB)

Excellent home base for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor! Cottage had everything we needed for our family of 4 and was super convenient to town (for restaurants, ice cream, and sea kayak touring) and to the park for hikes, biking, and sightseeing. Traffic noise on the busy road, as others have noted, was more of a problem if you have to keep windows open in hot weather. Earplugs recommended just in case. - (Aug 2022 - ABNB)

This place was in a great location. We would walk into Bar Harbor with a stroller or carrier with our little one to avoid the inconvenience of parking. Proximity to the park is awesome. There was quite a bit of glass around the cottage that we had to move during the stay due to little one wanting to explore and touch everything. Only used the oven once on the last night and it made the fire alarm go off, but the stove top was used on a daily basis with no issues. We would definitely recommend The Big Dragonfly cottage. The location was great, close to both Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The house was well stocked with linens, dishes and games. The hosts were very responsive and helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house. The only things that were a little off putting was their messaging (which was very canned and formal) and a lack of a guest book recommending local places to eat or things to do. - (Oct 2021 - ABNB)

House was great overall

Overall a good place to stay. House had all the basics you could need (and a lot of leftover detergents and dry goods). The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. It is close to everything! A few notes to future travelers: 1) if you bring a pet, the yard is not fully fenced. our pup is pretty good, but the woods behind the property are very tempting! (bring a yard line in necessary) 2) the house is on a fairly major road on the island. it's super convenient for getting around! BUT, there are vehicles all day! With access to Cadillac just off the road, cars start heading up from town around 430am. I'm a light sleeper, and I really needed earplugs. (in hindsight I could have moved the kids, who sleep like bricks, up front , though I would have needed to move a bed). Had a great time while we were there! - (Sep 2021 - ABNB)

This was a great little cottage close to downtown Bar Harbor. We were able to easily walk the 1/2 mile into town to avoid the busy parking situation. I would have given it 5 stars for cleanliness, but we did see some ants in the house, which reduced a star. Otherwise, it was very clean with nice linens and lots of towels. Great cottage!

Great cottage with well equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. Very clean and comfortable. A short 5 min drive to Cadillac Mountain entrance. About 1 mile from downtown Bar Harbor. Save yourself the trouble and walk into town as parking is a nightmare. Takes about 20 mins and only one small hill coming back to the cottage. Lots of crowds at popular attractions, plan to arrive early and have a back up plan.

The kitchen was well equipped with pots, plans, plates, etc and of course all you need to cook, crack and eat lobster!
