It was the perfect distance to Acadia National Park

We had an excellent stay. The house was exactly as it was advertised. We loved seeing the deer and turkeys in the yard every day we were there. We stayed at this cottage for a vacation to Acadia National Park. It was the perfect location, away from downtown Bar Harbor, but ideal distance to many different hiking trails, 20 minutes to Cadillac mountain. The house itself was clean and comfortable. - (Oct 2025 - ABNB)

This home was perfect for my family's stay.

This home was perfect for my family's stay. My handicapped parents took the first floor bedroom so they wouldn't have to climb the stairs, and they greatly appreciated the adjustable twin beds. The upstairs bedrooms were perfect for myself and the kids. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet, and we loved watching the turkeys in the woods behind the house. I would highly recommend this place for your Acadia stay--it's away from the crowds at Bar Harbor but only a short drive, there are great restaurants within a 10 minute drive, and we saw much more wildlife on this quieter side of the park than the Bar Harbor side. The home is perfectly clean and very well appointed, with comfortable beds and linens. We had a minor issue with temperature control during our stay, and it was resolved swiftly and appropriately. We had a lovely time staying at Acadia cottage rentals. It was clean, peaceful and spacious with great amenities, we made especially good use of the grill/ back deck area, laundry facilities and basement tv area. It was conveniently located close to Southwest Harbor so we could swing into town whenever needed but also be away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor without being too too far. The home was perfect for our family group of 6. Plenty of space, cooking equipment, great back deck with grill. Close to southwest Harbor and not far from Bar Harbor and Acadia. Much quieter than Bar Harbor.

Very spacious and clean. Kitchen stocked with every utensil you could possibly need. Close proximity to Acadia and just 25 min. from downtown Bar Harbor. Beds were on the firmer side but comfortable. Very well equipped house. High quality dishwasher and barbecue. We did not have time to make use of all the space that was available. Plenty of crockery and plates. House was perfect for our time visiting the area. The house was very clean, cozy and spacious with amenities that made our stay very comfortable and easy. It's located in a quiet neighborhood with an easy drive to National Acadia Park and Bar Harbor. Also very close to SW Harbor which made it easy for last minute food options! Would definitely come back for our next visit!

The house is fantastic, extremely clean, and lots of thought went into everything the house owners provided. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you'll need to prep an easy meal or a complete feast for a large family. The property managers are very pleasant, responsive, and provide you with great details about your trip. It is a surprisingly large home so there's lot of space for your family or guests. The location in Southwest Harbor is great as there's lots to do nearby and Bar Harbor was only a 20 minute drive. We spent most of our days during our visit exploring the island while utilizing the house as our central base. Thank You for allowing us to stay at Ridge Escape. It was a great experience to vacation in this comfortable home with so many extra amenities! The location is very convenient especially for everything we wanted to do and see on the island from Bar Harbor to Acadia and to Bass Harbor. It is also a very quiet neighborhood which made it perfect for relaxation after busy days of hiking and shopping.
